Ndlambe Local Municipality acknowledges the recent water quality monitoring results for the Kariega River as reported by Estuary Care.
The municipality wishes to clarify that the poor water quality parameters were recorded at the discharge point adjacent to the reed bed outlet associated with the Kenton-on-Sea Wastewater Treatment Works. The current monitoring results indicate that the upstream sections of the Kariega River has no evidence to suggest that recreational areas located further upstream are similarly affected.
