There were two floats in December. The first one on Wednesday 27th December was from Bell’s Cove to the mouth and as anticipated was well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by floaters and spectators. The second float, which as usual drew a very large crowd, was on Thursday 28th December from the Kariega slipway to Horns Up. Horns Up took control of the event and in order for the float to be properly sanctioned permission to use the estuary was obtained from Ndlambe Municipality Environmental Conservation Law Enforcement. Sea Rescue, Gardmed Ambulance Services, Ndlambe officials and SAPS were in attendance. We were very pleased to learn that Horns Up organised cleaning up litter in the estuary on float day and the day after.
A big thank you to Rick Wall for the photographs
